AASA, Experian Automotive to Offer Exclusive Experian AutoCount Vehicles in Operation Data (SM): AASA Member Express Package to Members

Release Date: November 3, 2009

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) today announced it has signed an agreement with Experian Automotive to provide its AutoCount Vehicles in Operation (SM) data to the association’s supplier members, helping them to make quick, informed, market-specific business decisions at substantial discounts.

Jointly Experian Automotive and AASA have developed the “Experian AutoCount Vehicles in Operation: AASA Member Express Package,” a custom package exclusively for AASA supplier members and a lower cost version of the comprehensive data package. Experian’s AutoCount Vehicles in Operation data services, which provides detailed information on more than 240 million vehicles on the road in the United States, are available at up to a 20 percent discount for AASA members, depending on the services requested and length of the agreement.

“This agreement with Experian Automotive will provide AASA members with invaluable information about the vehicles currently on the road,” said Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “By using the data provided by Experian’s AutoCount Vehicles in Operation, our full service aftermarket supplier members will be better prepared to meet their customers’ needs, plan new product launches and anticipate inventory adjustments,” he added.

Experian’s AutoCount Vehicles in Operation provides timely visibility to what cars and trucks are on the road, helping aftermarket suppliers make better decisions in managing inventory levels, planning for new products and adjusting for technology changes. The data is updated within six weeks of the end of each quarter, ensuring that aftermarket organizations have the most timely and comprehensive information available.

AASA members interested in more details about the Experian’s AutoCount Vehicles in Operation data and discounted membership privileges should contact Theresa Spera, tspera@mema.org.
